Vanessa Drouin wins Élitas Gold

The 40th edition of the Gala du mérite sportif beauceron has put 37 Élitas to athletes, coaches, teams, and organizations on February 10, in the auditorium of the Polyvalente de Saint-Georges.

The winner in the category karate senior, Vanessa Drouin also put the hand on the coveted Élitas Gold awarded to the athlete of the year 2017.

Resident of Saint-Simon-les-Mines, Vanessa Drouin is illustrated for a second consecutive year on the international scene. It has won champion titles in kata in sync, and vice-champion in kata, reinforced creative and kata softstyle world championship WKC held last November in Orlando, Florida.

During his competitions in 2017, it ranked at least in the first five positions of the races in which she took part.

Thorough, disciplined and energetic, Vanessa Drouin shares his passion and experience to his students Studios Unis de Beauce in Saint-Georges.

The Élitas Money has been awarded to the Mariverain Eliot Grondin, also a recipient of the Élitas in snowboard cross. At only 16 years of age, the latter has its place on the national implementation team.

His performance at the world juniors and on the NORAM grand prix allowed him to make descents on the circuit of the world Cup with athletes at least ten years older than him.

Ranking in the top third in the standings, Eliot Grondin is currently participating in the olympic Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.

Adam Auclair, Notre-Dame-des-Pins, is the recipient of the Élitas Bronze and one in football. Half-defensive in the Red and Gold of the University Laval, he was named best defensive player at a university in Quebec and in Canada, in addition to being on the first all-star team at both levels.

Athlete of 6’2, Adam Auclair stands out on the field by his reading of the game, his fighting, his speed, his coverage of the password and the strength of his tackles. With the Red and Gold, it has also reached the national final of the Vanier Cup.
