Patients who suffer from impairments in kidney in the region of Rivière-du-Loup will finally be able to receive hemodialysis in the vicinity of the house in a few months. The mp and minister Jean D’amour is confident that the unit will be operational in November next.
Located at the Centre hospitalier regional du Grand-Portage, the service should probably look like the unit was inaugurated in 2014 at the Hospital of Montmagny. It would, according to Mr. Love, a project of approximately$ 3.5 Million.
The tendering process has recently concluded and it is the company Marcel Charest et Fils Saint-Pascal, who has won it. “The work will begin as soon as the temperature will allow. The operation of the service is planned between October and the end of November”, concluded the member of parliament for Rivière-du-Loup–Témiscouata and minister responsible for the Bas-Saint-Laurent.
It was in October of 2016 as the minister Gaétan Barrette had given its approval to the project of establishment of a service of hemodialysis, Rivière-du-Loup to serve the customers of the KRTB.
Until now, patients from Kamouraska, Témiscouata, Basques and Rivière-du-Loup had to move to Rimouski and several times a week in order to have access to the service.
