The Gala du mérite sportif beauceron inaugurated Saturday its hall of fame which takes place in the main entrance of the Centre sportif Lacroix-Dutil.
Photos of the athletes of the year in the last 40 years are well in sight in the arena, in a scene cleverly orchestrated by France Dallaire Design (Saint-Georges.
Many athletes, including Antony Auclair, Marie-Michèle Gagnon, Jean-Philippe Maranda and many others were present at the unveiling.
The chairman of the Gala sports awards beauceron, Louis Patrice Roy was very proud of the final result. “The last 40 years have brought to the forefront the talent of our athletes. From now on, they are in plain sight,” he said.
Another director of the Gala, Jean-Louis Lemieux, took the opportunity to underline the talent that inhabits the region Beauce-Etchemins. “Had it not been for an injury to Marie-Michèle Gagnon, we would have three athletes from the region to the olympic Games in Pyeongchang. This is not nothing”.
The organization of the Tournament Comrie took advantage of the occasion to present a cheque of $ 10,000 to the Gala in order to defray part of the expenses of the hall of fame.
Many athletes were present at the dvoilement of the hall of fame.
Bobby St-Pierre and Pascal Veilleux of the Tournament Comrie have handed over a cheque of $ 10,000 to the chair of the Gala, Louis Patrice Roy.
