Skateboarder Maxence Parrot knows a season to match his expectations and he added another success to his list on Sunday night, winning the Air & Style event presented in Los Angeles.
The Bromontois played his all-round in his third test in the final of the big air event and he won with a total of 178.66 points. He beat Belgium’s Seppe Smits (162.66 points) and Norwegian Markus Kleveland (161.99).
“I had to land my last descent, otherwise I did not win,” explained Parrot. I had a bit of pressure because the conditions were not perfect with the rain that started from the game in the final. But it looks like I’m responding to the pressure! ”
In the final attempt, Parrot has successfully completed a triple cork 1620 cab and a triple cork 1440 front side.
“I do not think I’ve ever won with the combination of these two maneuvers before. So far my season is going great. I hope it will continue. ”
Last week, Parrot placed second behind team-mate Mark McMorris at the Big Air World Cup in Quebec City. He also earned victory at the Air & Style festival in Innsbruck at the beginning of the month.
At the end of January, he also successfully defended his title of champion in big air at the X Games of Aspen.
Sebastien Toutant of l’Assomption was sixth (105.66) ahead of McMorris (104).
Antoine Truchon of Sainte-Adele finished in the 10th place, his career ended in the semifinal.
